  • FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more about PetMax.

What is Advantage II for X-Large Dogs?
It's a topical flea treatment for extra-large dogs over 55 lbs (25 kg). Same active ingredients as the smaller-dog versions, just dosed for bigger body weight.
    Does it kill flea eggs?
Yes — pyriproxyfen prevents flea eggs and larvae from developing into biting adults. So while imidacloprid handles current adult fleas, pyriproxyfen prevents the next generation.
I have multiple large dogs — what should I know?
Treat all dogs in the household at the same time on the same monthly schedule. If only some are treated, untreated dogs become reservoirs for re-infestation. Consistency across the whole pack matters.
    Vet-recommended?
Yes — Advantage II is widely recommended by vets for routine flea control. For specific health conditions, ask your vet whether it's still the best choice for your dog.
    Who makes it?
Bayer originally; the Bayer animal health division was acquired by Elanco. Same product, same formulation — just under different parent ownership now.
