Description

Baskerville Ultra Muzzle is the ultimate dog muzzle! Every aspect of this basket muzzle's design has been created with the intent to combine maximum safety and comfort for your dog. It has taken four years to develop, and we believe that it was worth the wait.

Safety note: While a muzzle can be very useful as a safety backup when training your aggressive dog, they can be harmful or even dangerous if your dog is repeatedly exposed to a situation which causes him to try to bite while muzzled. We strongly recommend working with an experienced positive trainer who will help you to teach your dog to be comfortable in situations that are currently making him aggressive. We also recommend that you supervise your dog at all times when he or she is wearing a muzzle.

Dr. Roger mugford developed the patented baskerville ultra muzzle to provide an optimal muzzle fit for all dogs, including shorter nose breeds such as boxers. The ultra muzzle perfectly combines comfort for the dog and owner peace of mind.

What is the Baskerville Ultra Muzzle?

It's a basket-style dog muzzle designed to combine safety with comfort. Took four years to develop — the basket shape lets the dog pant, drink, and accept treats while preventing biting.

Why a basket muzzle?

Basket muzzles are the most humane option for any extended wear because they don't restrict panting (which is how dogs cool themselves) or drinking. Soft fabric muzzles that hold the mouth shut are only safe for very short use.

When should I use a muzzle?

For vet visits, in crowds, during training around triggers, after surgeries, or any time bite safety matters. A muzzle is a tool — pair it with proper desensitization training, not as a substitute for behaviour work.

How should it fit?

Loose enough that your dog can pant fully, snug enough that they can't paw it off. Multiple sizes are available — measure muzzle length and circumference and check the size guide before ordering.

Should my dog be trained to wear it?

Yes — never put a muzzle on a stressed dog cold. Build positive associations gradually with treats fed through the basket. A dog that views the muzzle as 'good things happen when I wear this' will tolerate it much better.
