The HALTI OptiFit is a premium headcollar designed by Dr. Roger  Mugford to provide an optimum fit and which guarantees to stop your dog pulling.

  • Its unique design works by gently directing the dogs head, steering him into desired positions just like a horse.
  • With a self-adjusting chin strap and unique, reflective cheek straps which follow the contours of a dogs face, the OptiFit doesn’t rise into the dogs eyes or slide down to his lips (flews).
  • Designed to fit dogs that other headcollars don’t - from short nosed Boxers to long nosed Greyhounds, the OptiFit provides maximum comfort and optimum fit no matter what shape or size.
  • The pack includes a HALTI OptiFit Headcollar, a comprehensive Training DVD and Guide and a HALTI safety link which connects to the dogs’ collar for extra security.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more about PetMax.

What is the Halti OptiFit?
It's a premium dog headcollar with a self-adjusting chin strap and reflective cheek straps that follow the contours of the dog's face. Designed to stay properly positioned without riding into the eyes or sliding to the lips.
How is it different from the original Halti Headcollar?
The OptiFit is the upgraded version — the self-adjusting chin and reflective contoured cheek straps fix the main complaint about earlier headcollars (riding up or sliding down). Better fit, especially for hard-to-fit faces.
How does a headcollar stop pulling?
It works like a horse halter — gentle pressure on the head steers the dog. When they pull, their head turns; that's awkward enough that they self-correct. Much gentler than a choke or prong collar.
Will it fit my dog?
Multiple sizes available. Measure the muzzle and the neck behind the ears; check the size guide. The OptiFit is specifically designed for breeds and head shapes that other headcollars don't fit well — flat-faced dogs, narrow muzzles, etc.
Does my dog need training to wear it?
Yes — like any new tool. Introduce it gradually with treats. A few short positive sessions before relying on it for walks prevents the dog from fighting the headcollar.
