What is K9 Advantix II for Small Dogs?
Topical monthly parasite control for small breeds. Kills fleas, ticks, lice, and mosquitoes through contact. Dosed for small body weight ranges — using the right size matters.
Topical vs collar — which is better?
Topicals like Advantix give consistent monthly coverage and absorb through the skin oils. Collars (like Seresto) last longer per application but the protection comes from the collar staying on — easy to lose. Both work; pick based on your dog's lifestyle.
How do I apply to a small dog?
Part the fur between the shoulder blades and apply directly to skin. For very small dogs, the entire dose may go into one spot rather than along the back. Don't apply where the dog can lick or rub it off.
Multiple small dogs?
Treat each dog separately. Don't let dogs lick each other's application sites for at least 24 hours — the active ingredients should be absorbed before contact.
Year-round or seasonal?
In Canada, year-round application is increasingly recommended even where winters are cold — ticks and fleas are active longer than people realize. Talk to your vet about whether year-round or seasonal coverage fits your area.
