What is the Pro Plus Nail Clipper?
It's a stainless steel nail clipper for dogs. Regular nail clipping prevents overgrowth that can cause discomfort, affect your dog's gait, or split nails painfully.
How do I clip my dog's nails?
Take small cuts past the quick (the pink area in light-coloured nails). For dark nails, clip a tiny bit at a time and stop when you see a glassy white centre appearing in the cross-section.
What if I cut the quick?
Always keep styptic powder or a cautery substance like Hagen Antiseptic First Aid Cream on hand. Apply with gentle pressure to stop bleeding from accidental quick nicks.
How often should I trim?
Most dogs need a trim every 3–4 weeks, though active dogs that walk on pavement may need less frequent clipping. If you hear nails clicking on the floor, it's time.
