Description

What is the Clix Canvas Training Dummy?

It's a brightly coloured retrieval training toy with a 100% canvas outer and dense cork filling. Includes an attached rope so you can throw it long distances. Designed for retrieve training and gun-dog work.

Does it float?

Yes — the dense cork filling keeps it floating, making it suitable for water retrieves. A core feature for training retriever breeds in lakes, rivers, or pools.

Who is it for?

Sporting breeds, retriever-trainers, and any dog learning to fetch and bring back reliably. The bright colour helps the dog spot it on land or water; the rope helps you throw farther.

How do I use it for training?

Start with short throws on land, reward the dog for picking it up and bringing it back. Build up distance gradually before adding water work. The dummy is more durable than a toy — it stands up to repeated retrieves.

Why use a dummy instead of a ball?

Dummies are heavier and have a more defined shape, which encourages a proper hold and 'soft mouth' carry. They're also easier to spot in tall grass or water than a ball.
