FAQ

Veuillez consulter notre page de FAQ pour en savoir plus sur PetMax.

Which dogs is this Now Fresh Good Gravy recipe made for?

It is made for adult large and giant breed dogs, and the feeding chart covers dogs from 50 to 150 lb (23 to 68 kg). The large, ridged kibble is designed to encourage chewing, not gulping, and glucosamine and chondroitin support normal cartilage repair and healthy mobility. It is formulated to meet the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for Maintenance.

How does the bone broth gravy work?

Each kibble is coated in turkey bone broth. You can serve it dry as a complete meal, or add a splash of warm water to unlock a rich, hydrating bone broth gravy. Now Fresh describes the bone broth as a source of collagen with a meaty flavour that is perfect for picky eaters.

How much should I feed my large breed dog?

As a starting point, Now Fresh suggests 3 1/4 to 4 1/4 cups (353 to 455 g) per day to maintain weight for a 50 to 70 lb dog, 4 1/4 to 5 1/2 cups (455 to 594 g) for 70 to 100 lb, 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 cups (594 to 723 g) for 100 to 130 lb and 6 1/2 to 7 1/4 cups (723 to 805 g) for 130 to 150 lb. Smaller amounts are listed for weight loss. Adjust for breed, activity level, age and climate, and weigh the food with a kitchen scale for accuracy (1 cup = 250 ml).

Is this recipe grain-free or chicken-free?

It is not grain-free: it is a recipe with ancient grains, and the ingredient list includes oatmeal, rye, millet, quinoa and sorghum. Now Fresh labels it chicken-free, with de-boned beef as the first ingredient; note that it does contain whole dried egg and turkey bone broth. It has no by-product or meat meals and no artificial preservatives.

How do I switch my dog to this food, and which sizes are available?

Now Fresh recommends a 10-day transition: 20% new food on days 1 to 2, 40% on days 3 to 4, 60% on days 5 to 6, 80% on days 7 to 9 and 100% on day 10. If your dog gets an upset stomach, slow the process down to give the tummy time to settle. PetMax carries this recipe in 5.4kg and 10kg bags.
